New body contour, completely redesigned interior, new dashboard,
more space for passengers in the back, a larger trunk/boot yet, excellent
technical features, and a wide assortment of modern and economical gasoline
and Diesel engines – this is the new Octavia, Octavia Combi and
Combi 4x4; acquaint yourself with its design, equipment, and
technology…
The new Octavia has grown lengthwise, has more space in its
interior for passengers in the back and a roomy
luggage compartment, whose basic volume of 560 liters (580 l Combi)
can be expanded by folding the rear seats up to incredible 1335
liters (1620 l Combi)! Its excellent driving properties have
been improved still more, thanks to a new chassis with a
modern front axle and new multi-functional rear axle.
The assortment of modern
power units is bound to satisfy fans of both gasoline and
Diesel engines, including fans of economical or sport-style driving.
The palette features also true “delicatessen” – the 1.6 FSI/85
kW gasoline engine or the 2.0 TDI PD Diesel engine with an
output of 103 kW and a revolutionary DSG transmission. The assortment is
complemented with an economical 1.4 MPI/55 kW gasoline engine and a 1.9
TDI PD/77 kW turbo Diesel engine.
Even the standard version, Classic, has four
airbags (front & side), the anti-lock ABS
system, central locking, height-adjustable driver seat, and ISOFIX
fixtures for a baby seat on the rear seats. With the Ambiente
version, you can enjoy (in addition to the standard Classic equipment)
electrically adjustable a heated exterior mirrors, a dashboard
computer or stained-glass windows. The top
version, Elegance, for example, features automatic air-conditioning
system, Climatic, electrically-controlled window,
both front and rear, fog lights, 15” Orion wheels of
light-weight alloy, door-step lighting integrated in the exterior mirrors
any many other elements.
Your pleasure of driving a new Octavia can be further enhanced with numerous
items of optional added equipment. Just a few examples: you
may order a multi-functional steering wheel, cruise control,
navigation system, top-notch Melody, Stream, or Audience
car radio, excellent sound system with digital equalizer or
adjustable driver seat with memory. For greater safety, we also offer head

The Škoda Octavia with 2.0 FSI petrol
engine can be driven in normal traffic conditions with an average fuel
consumption of 4,9 litres per 100 km. This was proven by the twenty-four
hour test held by TV Prima.

Well-thought-through
assortment of engines for the Octavia model line has been prepared, so that
you may choose between petrol, modern fuel-injection engines and turbo
Diesel, pump-nozzle engines.
The
assortment comprises of three petrol and two Diesel aggregates. Petrol fans
may choose between: 1.4 MPI /55 kW, 1.6 MPI /75 kW, 1.6
FSI /85 kW or 2.0 FSI /110 kW (after Combi sales
started) with direct fuel injection. For Diesel fans, we have prepared two
modern turbo-Diesels, 1.9 TDI PD /77 kW and 2.0 TDI
PD /103 kW, with pump-nozzle injection system.
The vehicle’s safe and comfortable driving properties are
facilitated by the excellent chassis with a modern front
axle, type McPherson, made partly of aluminum, and
a new multi-element rear axle. The front and rear axles and
their functions have been mutually coordinated and adjusted onto a compact
chassis, thus ensuring the new Octavia’s excellent driving
properties.
In your new Octavia, you may have a classical 5-gear transmission, a 6-gear
automatic transmission, or the latest DSG transmission
which combines the best of the 6-gear manual
transmission with the advantages of the classical
“automat”. A unique system of double-disk
clutch and three shafts allow not only smooth gear
shifting, without retardation, but also better driving properties and optimal
consumption (available with 2.0 TDI PD/103 kW).
The new Octavia is a modern automobile,
manufactured on production
lines equipped with the most sophisticated production technology.
For instance,
laser-aided welding of components, gluing,
pressing from flexible sheet metal, and the latest methods of painting and chassis rustproofing, such as the technology of filling
cavities with hot wax and many others.
