is the state-of-the-art in sporting saloons. Designed by Giugiaro in
collaboration with the Alfa Romeo Style Centre, the Alfa 159
is distinctive for the exclusive look of its strong, essential front,
for the unmistakable lighting clusters with three circular lights, the
muscular fenders and large wheels flush with the body, with light
alloy wheels available in sizes up to 18 inches. The overall
appearance is a car that exudes solidity ad class at first glance.
Space, attention to detail and elegance, in the comfort of a
bright, roomy interior, with dual- or triple-zone climate control and
interior trim in exclusive materials such as ‘pieno fiore’
leather, Alfatex and aluminium. The increased wheelbase of the Alfa
159 means that five people can easily be accommodated in great
comfort, even the tallest passengers. The ‘driver oriented’
dashboard houses the elegant and extremely legible driving
instruments, the multifunction display, radio with CD/MP3-player
and Bose Hi-Fi, and the latest generation satellite navigator
with GSM hands-free telephone, both of which can also be
voice-operated.

Safety
The
torsional stiffness of the body is at the very top of the
segment, and is guarantee of wonderful road-holding, tremendous
strength and complete safety.
The body guarantees the maximum in terms of sturdiness and
safety, even in the event of high-speed collisions, thanks to
the use of high-strength steels (58 % of the total), dual-phase
steels (7%) and laser-welded multi-thickness metal panels.
The triple-reinforced central pillar protects passengers from
side-on collisions, while the high-strength steel long members
with three load lines absorb head-on collisions without
involving the passenger cabin.
Incomparable
safety on the Alfa 159 with seat-belts with
pre-tensioners and decreasing load limiters, and front
head-restraints with an anti-whiplash device. There are also
front, side and window bags for the entire glazed area and new
knee bags.
Alfa Romeo also thinks of safety for the smallest passengers,
and the rear seat is fitted with two pairs of three-point Isofix
fittings to secure child seats directly to the car body.
